The Lab Technician supports day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring accurate sample handling, safe work practices, and reliable test results. This role suits fresh graduates or early-career professionals who want to build strong technical foundations under supervision.

Key responsibilities

Testing & procedures: Perform routine laboratory tests, sample preparation, and basic analytical procedures under supervision.
Equipment handling: Maintain lab equipment, perform basic calibration checks, and report malfunctions.
Sample management: Label, store, and document samples accurately.
SOP adherence: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all tests and workflows.
Lab upkeep: Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in the lab.
Team support: Assist senior technicians and lab managers in daily operations and special assignments.
Documentation: Record observations and test results in physical or digital logs.
Inventory support: Track consumables and raise requests for replenishment.
Required skills & competencies

Technical basics: Fundamental understanding of lab practices, instruments, and safety protocols.
Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
Digital readiness: Basic computer skills (MS Office, data entry, digital logs).

Educational qualifications

Diploma / B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related fields.
