Job Description

We are running Rubbish and Waste bin removal business where our trucks run over day shifts. We are now looking for committed and hardworking Fleet Manager to manage our business and our drivers.

A successful candidate will be guaranteed a minimum of 35 hours work per week rostered over 6 days, including weekends, public holidays and evenings (if required).

The employee shall be responsible for the diligent and faithful performance of the following duties:

Ensure the administrative and operational functions of the fleet office are conducted professionally, supporting a clean and efficient work environment.
Order and manage staff uniforms, PPE, and other operational accessories to meet health and safety standards.
Plan and coordinate daily rubbish bin collection schedules, ensuring timely pickups across designated service areas.
Designing efficient and cost-effective truck routes that reduce fuel consumption, improve turnaround time, and comply with council regulations.
Maintain accurate records of driver and crew attendance, leave balances, and shift allocations to ensure operational continuity.
Monitor daily workloads and allocate duties to drivers and support staff as per operational needs and owner directives.
Hiring and managing staffing requirements if & when needed.
Oversee fleet-related financial records, including payments, receipts, payroll, and liaise with the accountant for IRD returns, PAYE, and GST compliance.
Operate accounting software to track expenses, generate reports, and manage budgets.
Ensure all trucks meet road safety standards, maintain current registrations, and pass regular COF inspections.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, including missed pickups, bin damage, or service delays.
Schedule regular servicing and urgent repairs for all fleet vehicles to ensure minimal downtime and safe operation.
Implement and monitor KPIs for drivers, including fuel efficiency, route adherence, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Maintain accurate logs of rubbish bin collection volumes, disposal records, and service completion reports.
Address liability issues related to property damage, missed pickups, or environmental breaches during operations.
Manage motor vehicle accident reports and liaise with insurers to ensure timely and satisfactory claim resolution.
Maintain clear and professional communication with residential, commercial, and council clients regarding service schedules, feedback, and contract terms.
Drive the truck in case some emergency to drivers or as back up.
To be suitable for this role you must:

· Hold a Clean full Class 4 license minimum as you may need to drive in an emergency if and when needed

. A minimum of two years of work experience in relevant field plus any tertiary level qualification with minimum level 5 is Required

· Maintain a proactive approach to your Health and Safety and those around you

· Can work on Weekends if required

. Good analytics skills to maintain the correct record of bins / and other records
