Job Description

Hourly pay depends on experience.
Schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm PST.

The following is required for the position:

- High speed internet connection (no Wi-Fi)

- A private and quiet workplace in your home where you can work without background noise

- A laptop with an extra monitor OR desktop computer with dual monitors (No MacBooks or Chromebooks)

- Basic headset or earbuds

- A webcam for trainings and meetings

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. This role assists with day-to-day HR functions including supporting recruitment and onboarding activities, maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, responding to routine employee inquiries, and helping ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, discretion and confidentiality, and a service-oriented approach to effectively support employees and HR leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide administrative support to the HR team, including reports and HR-related documentation.
Assist with recruitment activities such as posting job openings, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and maintaining applicant tracking records.
Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing new hire paperwork and conducting I-9 verification/E-Verify.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR systems.
Respond to routine employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and HR programs, escalating issues as appropriate.
Assist with compliance efforts, including policy acknowledgments, training tracking, and record retention.
Coordinate HR meetings, training sessions, and employee engagement activities.
Support employee relations matters by documenting information and assisting HR leadership as directed.
Responds to verification of employment requests
Stays well informed regarding human resources, labor, and other relevant developments
Adheres to all company policies and procedures
Interacts and communicates with all levels of management.
Follows instructions and maintains acceptable level of performance.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Drafts and maintains various reports for management use and reference.
Develops a thorough working knowledge of all USCB policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
Supports and promotes USCB mission statement, standards of conduct, and code of ethics
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

1–3 years of human resources support experience preferred.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ADP systems.
Ability to maintain complete confidentiality in all circumstances – required
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Interacts successfully with all levels of management
Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent
Must successfully pass a criminal history screening
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
