Role Description

This is a full-time or part time virtual role for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner based in Virginia state. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment including medication management and psychotherapy. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver client-centered mental health care while developing personalized care plans. Additional responsibilities include monitoring treatment progress, providing mental health education to patients and families, and staying informed of evidence-based practices in mental health care.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in Mental Health Care and Psychiatric Care
Experience as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on Mental Health Nursing
Proficiency in delivering compassionate and evidence-based nursing and psychiatric assessment
Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary mental health care team
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) is a plus
Commitment to ongoing professional education and staying updated on mental health advancements
Minimum requirements

Active Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP-BC preferred) and eligibility to practice in the state of Virginia
Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program
Current DEA prescriptive authority
