IT Support Technician (Healthcare / Dermatology Practice)

We are a busy dermatology practice seeking an experienced and reliable IT Support Technician to manage and support our technology environment. This role is essential to keeping our clinical and administrative operations running smoothly and securely. Healthcare or HIPAA experience is preferred, but we will provide HIPAA training.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain office IT infrastructure including:
Local server
Workstations, laptops, tablets
Smart boards, printers, scanners
Administer Microsoft 365 (users, permissions, MFA, security policies, licensing)
Support cloud-based software solutions including EHR/EMR and practice management systems
Provide daily technical support to staff (hardware/software/network troubleshooting)
Maintain network security (firewall, Wi-Fi, VPN, network segmentation)
Monitor and manage antivirus/endpoint protection, patches, and updates
Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of all systems and data
Maintain backup systems and perform periodic disaster recovery tests
Onboard and offboard staff with proper device setup and user access
Coordinate with vendors when needed for equipment, software, or support

Qualifications

Required:

2+ years of IT support or systems administration experience
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 admin
Understanding of basic networking (routers, firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi)
Excellent troubleshooting skills and customer-service mindset
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
Willingness to complete HIPAA Security training

Preferred:

Previous experience in a healthcare environment
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications
Experience with EHR/EMR systems
Familiarity with cloud-based environments and cybersecurity best practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
