Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shift Leader to oversee the daily operations of our care facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized memory care. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care is provided to our residents while leading a team of caregivers in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support staff in providing exceptional care to residents, ensuring adherence to care plans and individual needs.
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing changes in condition; report any concerns to appropriate medical personnel.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
Facilitate communication among team members, residents, and families to promote a collaborative care environment.
Train new staff on best practices in caregiving, safety protocols, and emergency procedures including first aid and CPR.
Assist with medication administration as per established guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the facility to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
Provide direct support for residents with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other cognitive impairments through engaging activities and compassionate interaction.
Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is preferred.
Strong understanding of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor changes in resident behavior or health status.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
Knowledge of caregiving practices including heavy lifting techniques (e.g., Hoyer lift) for safe resident transfers.
Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
Ability to prepare meals that meet dietary restrictions while ensuring nutritional balance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in nursing or social work are a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $9.00 - $9.01 per hour
