Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Test Technician with hands-on experience in RF equipment and a solid understanding of IP-based data networks. This position will be part of the Operations Team. You will support the testing RF, 5G and legacy 3GPP network components, ensuring conformance, performance, and interoperability standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and setting up RF testing equipment (e.g., spectrum analysers, network Analyzer, power meters)
Reading circuit diagrams and schematics of PCBs, testing incoming PCBs, debugging faults on the component level, and being able to replace components on different packages. Being able to replace some FBGA/BGA will be desirable
Assist production testing, generating test results according to the specifications, in fast paced environment
Able to set up and carry out a full system final test for the orders, configuring the products according to the customer needs
Working closely with the team and focusing on the priorities given to meet customer needs and deadlines
Able to test and diagnose faulty in the finish good products and carry out the repair by replacing any faulty parts if required
Analyse test results, log defects, and work with engineering teams to verify and resolve issues as standard IPC. IPC 610 desirable, IPC 7711/7721 a plus
Collaborate with cross-functional quality improvement teams to ensure product quality and performance
Ability to conceptualize and build test fixtures, test racks
Knowledgeable of operating and managing ATS set ups and basic interface with operating software for test equipment
Basic concepts of test equipment calibration and regular maintenance
Team Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to drive continuous quality improvements and problem resolutions
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the electronics manufacturing sector specifically for RF infrastructure or wireless video equipment
Strong knowledge, experience on fast paced environment
Excellent analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
Strong component level Analogue and Digital electronics
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable: bachelor’s degree in, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Work Schedule
This is a full time position, requiring five days a week in the Colchester office.
