The Role: Founding Security Lab Engineer
As our second full-time hire, you'll help design and build practical, containerized security labs for web, infrastructure, cloud, and AI-related attack surfaces. You'll work closely with the CEO and founding infrastructure engineer to build content that's technically rich, accessible, and impactful.
This role starts with deep hands-on creation and has a clear path to leadership for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Design hands-on, real-world cybersecurity labs using Docker and containerized services
Develop lab environments, walkthroughs, and scoring logic for a wide range of security topics
Write clear, concise technical content (prompts, hints, docs)
Collaborate with engineers to deploy labs in Kubernetes-based infrastructure
Participate in roadmap planning and help define future content architecture
Optionally recruit and mentor future lab contributors and SMEs
Requirements
Deep expertise in at least one security domain (e.g., LLM/AI security, web app security, cloud security, or red teaming)
Hands-on experience with Docker (building, testing, deploying containers)
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Passion for cybersecurity education and practical, scenario-based learning
Startup-ready mindset: self-directed, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity
Nice to Have
Experience creating CTF challenges, cyber labs, or training modules.
Security consulting or red team background
Contributions to the security community (talks, tools, blogs, etc.)
