Fashion Designer & Production In-Charge (Focussed on Textiles)

Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha (in office) with frequent travel

Experience: Minimum 3 years with a reputed designer brand

About Tarina:

Tarina is a luxury womenswear brand specializing in handwoven textiles, particularly Jamdani and Ikat. We also have a festive collection focussed on embroidery. As we expand our operations, we are looking for a dedicated Fashion Designer - Production to oversee our design and production unit.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Development:
• Work closely with the creative director to develop seasonal collections, ensuring alignment with Tarina’s design ethos.

2. Production & Operations Management:
• Oversee day-to-day operations at the production unit, ensuring smooth workflow and timely execution.
• Oversee masters and tailors
• Hiring and recruitment

3. Sourcing & Vendor Management:
• Identify and build relationships with suppliers, weavers, and artisans across India.

4. Marketing Support:
• Collaborate with the marketing team to curate engaging content showcasing the design process, craftsmanship, and collections.
• Travel for exhibitions
• Create lookbooks

Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of experience with a reputed designer brand
• Should be open to travel for exhibitions and to remote weaving clusters
• Strong understanding of Indian textiles, handloom weaving techniques, and embroidery.
• Hands-on experience in garment production, pattern-making, and draping.
• Ability to manage a team and oversee end-to-end production processes.
• A keen eye for detail, color, and fabric combinations.
• Proficiency in design software (Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Passionate about slow fashion, sustainability, and artisanal craftsmanship.

We may be open to hiring a textile designer based out of Kolkata also.
