Mainframe DB2 DBA

Job description
• Understand the design and structure of Db2 Data base on Mainframes underlying objects like Database, tables spaces, tables, indexes, stored procedures and to compare to oracle DB for migration and replication.
• Should have work experience on data base migration projects using different tools or thru ETL processes.
• Create databases/tables/indexes, backup/recovery strategies, compatibility issues, tune performance of application queries, create and enhance database maintenance/utility jobs.
• Work on projects and initiatives together with experienced DB2 z/OS and technology DBAs.
• Partner with DB2 z/OS System Programmers on DB2 z/OS and tools upgrades.
• Ensure that databases are optimally designed, so that applications meet their defined SLAs, maximize reuse of existing database structures, and minimize operational costs.
