Job Title: Senior Design Engineer – Security & Turnstile Systems

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in Motorized gates and turnstile system development. The ideal candidate will take ownership of mechanical and electromechanical design projects from concept to production, ensuring innovation, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design and development of security access control products, specifically mechanical turnstiles, flap barriers, and swing gates.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
• Perform design calculations, stress analysis, and component selection for mechanisms, actuators, and structural parts.
• Collaborate with electrical, embedded, and firmware teams to integrate sensors, motors, and control systems.
• Optimize designs for cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Work closely with prototyping, testing, and manufacturing teams to validate design functionality.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement design improvements based on field feedback.
• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
• Keep up with industry trends and suggest new materials, technologies, and manufacturing techniques.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in designing turnstiles, access gates, or related security control systems.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, sheet metal design, drive mechanisms, and enclosure design.
• Proficient in CAD tools (Preferably SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with IP ratings, safety standards, and industrial design principles for public-use products.
• Experience with prototyping methods and DFMA principles.
• Exposure to mechatronic systems including motor selection (BLDC/Servo), gear mechanisms, and feedback sensors.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred
• Experience with access control integrations (RFID, biometric, face recognition).
• Understanding of EMC, electrical enclosures, and international design standards (CE, UL, etc.).
