About the Role
As the Regional Group Manager Delivery, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of infrastructure projects across the Central Region for our Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG). As a senior leader you will ensure there is consistent application of IIG's policies, strategies, and standards across portfolio, programme, and project management functions.
Playing a critical role in shaping the region's infrastructure operating model and driving continuous improvement across delivery functions, you will oversee the delivery of a diverse portfolio of health infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
About the Team/Service
The IIG team are focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.
About you
You are an experienced and strategic leader with over 10 years' experience driving the successful delivery of large-scale, complex infrastructure programmes, particularly within the health and public sectors. You're able to demonstrate expertise in commercial delivery, PMO leadership and navigating high-profile environments where adaptability and precision are critical.
You lead with clarity and purpose building and empowering high performing teams that thrive in fast-paced, evolving contexts. Your leadership style is inclusive, collaborative and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You are an effective communicator, skilled at building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. Whether engaging with executive leaders, government agencies, or community partners, you consistently align interests and drive outcomes that support equitable infrastructure investment and meaningful health impacts.
You will bring:
Proven success leading and managing complex portfolios and PMO functions, including projects valued over $10 million
Strong strategic planning and operational leadership capabilities that drive performance and alignment across regional priorities
Expertise in project and programme governance, risk management, and financial oversight
Experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver sustainable outcomes
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship building skills
Qualifications in project and programme management, engineering, construction, business, or health management (or comparable experience)
Experience working in multicultural and diverse environments, with a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2026
Strong understanding of machinery of government and legislative processes
