Job Description And Duties
The Police Practices Section conducts a variety of investigations, brings civil actions, publishes public reports regarding issues relating to constitutional policing in California, and supports the Department’s responsibilities for implementing Assembly Bill 1506 and other law enforcement-related enactments and mandates. The Senior Legal Analyst (SLA) in the Police Practices Section performs a wide variety of the most responsible, varied and complex paralegal duties, including analyzing case files, legal and factual research and assisting attorneys in investigation, discovery, trial preparation and trial. The SLA works under direction, and undertakes a high degree of personal responsibility and initiative for the Section’s legal work. The SLA may serve as a lead to other analysts.
