AI Intern / Junior Engineer
Location: Pune, India
Type: Internship (Part-time / Full-time)
Duration: 3-6 months

As an AI Intern / Junior Engineer, you’ll work directly with our core engineering and product teams to experiment, fine-tune, and small / large language models for real-world use cases.
What You’ll Do
• Research and evaluate open-source language models (Mistral, Phi-2, TinyLlama, Gemma, etc.)
• Fine-tune and benchmark models for specific tasks (e.g., summarization, Q&A, classification)
• Build proof-of-concept applications using self-hosted models with LangChain, Transformers, and vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Weaviate)
• Develop RAG pipelines, embedding-based search, and model inference APIs
• Optimize models for cost, latency, and scalability
• Assist in data preparation, prompt engineering, and evaluation framework design
• Contribute to documentation and model performance reports
You Should Have
• Good understanding of NLP, transformers, and foundation models
• Familiarity with open-source LLMs and model hosting (e.g., Hugging Face, Ollama, vLLM, LM Studio)
• Hands-on Python skills (FastAPI, LangChain, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
• Comfort with Linux, Docker, and Git
• Experience (or strong interest) in working with vector databases and RAG architecture
• Curiosity, self-motivation, and the ability to experiment independently
Bonus Points For
• Experience running models on your own machine using tools like Ollama or LM Studio
• Contributions to open-source AI/NLP projects
• Familiarity with embedding models (e.g., BGE, Instructor, E5, or OpenAI/Bedrock embeddings)
• Understanding of model quantization and optimization (e.g., GGUF, GPTQ)
