Job Title : Chrome Extension Engineer (5+ Years Experience).
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Chrome Extension Engineer with 5+ years of experience in developing, maintaining, and optimizing Chrome extensions.
The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of JavaScript, Web APIs, Chrome Extension APIs, and modern frontend frameworks.
You will work on creating robust, high-performance, and user-friendly browser extensions to enhance user experience and productivity.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Chrome extensions that align with business needs.
• Work with Chrome Extension APIs (e., background scripts, content scripts, messaging, storage, permissions, etc.
• Optimize extensions for performance, security, and scalability.
• Implement Manifest V3 compliance and ensure extensions meet Chrome Web Store policies.
• Integrate extensions with external APIs and backend services.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in existing Chrome extensions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create seamless user experiences.
• Keep up to date with the latest trends in Chrome extension development and browser technologies.
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in Chrome extension development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
• Hands-on experience with Chrome Extension APIs and Manifest V3.
• Experience with React, Vue.js, or other frontend frameworks is a plus.
• Familiarity with OAuth, WebSockets, IndexedDB, and other web technologies.
• Knowledge of security best practices related to Chrome extensions.
• Experience with testing, debugging, and publishing extensions on the Chrome Web Store.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
• Experience integrating Chrome extensions with backend services (Node.js, Firebase, AWS, etc.
• Knowledge of Electron.js for building cross-platform desktop applications.
• Familiarity with other browser extension platforms (Firefox, Edge, Safari).
