Job Description

We are seeking a junior associate (2-4 years) to join our growing firm. We offer a unique opportunity to gain experience in a specialized insurance practice, including property subrogation and recovery, professional E&O defence, coverage analysis and casualty defence (primarily occupier's liability). Experience in those areas of practice is a definite asset.

We are seeking a candidate who is a self-starter interested in assisting senior counsel with larger files in addition to maintaining a significant independent file load. We are seeking a candidate looking for an opportunity to challenge themselves within a more specialized niche of insurance litigation. While we are based in Ontario, we also offer a unique opportunity to work on litigation matters in other common law provinces outside of Ontario.

Responsibilities

The specific responsibilities of the position includes:

drafting pleadings and opinion letters;
support on larger, complex property losses;
review of documentary disclosure;
preparation and attendance at examinations for discovery;
trial assistance and attendance.
Qualifications

Member in good standing of the LSO

Excellent written and oral communication and advocacy skills

Ability to work in a paperless office

Ability to manage time efficiently and work as a team player

Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $+3,500.00-$125,000.00 per year
