Job Summary:

Fire TV is the #1 best-selling streaming media player in the U.S. We are seeking a skilled software development engineer to contribute to the architecture and operating system level performance of our Fire TV devices.

This role offers the opportunity to drive optimizations to the user experience of all Fire TV devices, enhancing their performance and overall quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Architecture Review: Conduct thorough reviews of future product architectures to ensure alignment with company goals.
System Stability and Performance Issue Resolution: Debug and root-cause system stability and performance issues on FTV devices, ensuring timely resolution.
Fire OS Instrumentation and Enhancement: Instrument, monitor, and enhance Fire OS for every Fire TV device, improving its functionality and user experience.
Optimization Suggestions and Implementation: Suggest and implement optimizations to Fire OS, maximizing its performance and efficiency.
Architecture Decisions and Influence: Influence architecture decisions for optimal performance, aligning with company objectives.
System Requirements Specification: Specify system requirements for upcoming Fire TV devices, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Collaboration and Feature Incorporation: Collaborate with teams to incorporate features into Fire TV, delivering an optimal user experience.
Requirements:

Leadership Experience: Proven experience leading the design, automation, deployment, and support of large-scale infrastructure.
Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
Linux/Unix Experience: Experience working with Linux/Unix environments.
CI/CD Pipeline Experience: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.
Technical Expertise: 6+ years of experience in systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement.
