General Summary: Western Engineering Contractors Inc. is seeking a qualified Fueler/Mechanic for full-time employment. Western Engineering is a local contractor that is based in Loomis and performs work in the greater Sacramento area and surrounding foothills. Western Engineering is a reputable company that has been rooted in the industry for over 40 years.

Essential Functions:
• Performing maintenance on and around construction equipment, such as excavators, scrapers, pavers, motor graders, bull dozers, backhoes, on highway equipment and light duty vehicles.
• Fueling and lubing of equipment along with minor repairs and assisting in major repairs.
• Ability to work unsupervised at times.
• Maintains written records of maintenance performed.
• Familiar with taking oil samples of all fluids on all equipment during PM services.

Education Requirements: High school diploma preferable.

Experience Requirements: Mechanical aptitude, team-oriented people skills, self-motivated, willingness to learn, ability to comprehend maintenance manuals, and ability to reach multiple destinations by using a road map.

Other Requirements: Must have personal basic hand and power tools required for the job.

License/Certification: Valid California commercial driver’s license with hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements.

We often have Section 3 work. Preference will be given to Section 3 residents for hiring.
