Heavy Duty Mechanic Position

The State of California is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair various types of heavy equipment used in the Department's fleet. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing your skills and knowledge to ensure the efficient operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and diagnose issues with heavy equipment, making repairs and performing routine maintenance as needed.
Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks and projects, often under tight deadlines.
Maintain accurate records and reports, documenting work completed and materials used.
Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless operations and minimize downtime.


Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
Valid Class C driver license required.
Minimum 2 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance or repair.
