Job Title: Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Company located in Bakersfield, Ca. Various project sites across California (San Diego to Redding) – Must be willing to travel
(Per diem provided for hotel stays & mileage reimbursement available)

Pay: $25 - $40 per hour (DOE)



Job Summary:

Key Staffing is seeking experienced Power Plant Maintenance Mechanics to join our client for project-based work across California. This role requires skilled mechanics with a strong background in power plant maintenance and the oil & gas industry. Candidates must be flexible with travel, safety-conscious, and prepared to work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of power plant equipment, including turbines, pumps, compressors, generators, and other mechanical systems.
Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
Work with a team to complete scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks within project timelines.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including confined space entry and proper use of PPE.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.


Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 2+ years as a maintenance mechanic in power plants and/or the oil & gas industry.
Certifications: Confirmed Confined Space Training is required.
Travel Ability: Willingness to travel throughout California for projects is required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform duties in various weather conditions.
Safety Compliance: Must adhere to all site-specific safety policies and procedures.


Dress Code / PPE Requirements:

Mandatory: Hard hat (in good condition), safety glasses, long-sleeve shirt, pants, and steel-toe boots.
Recommended: Bring gloves if available.
