Lab Technician

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Specialist to join our team. As a Junior Specialist, you will participate in basic science research to study mechanisms by which brain tumors interact with their microenvironment to promote growth, invasion, and therapeutic resistance.

Key Responsibilities
Culturing tumor cells and extraction of RNA and DNA from brain tumor tissue
Cloning retroviral constructs and isolation of retroviruses from infected cells
Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence of tumor tissue and cultured primary tumor cells
Isolation of cells from brain tumors and flow cytometry of the cells to count numbers of various cell types
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in molecular biology and cellular biology, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
