Job Description

This position requires a dynamic, goal-oriented person to foster and grow customer relationships across our market segments. Communication, collaboration and core values are the building blocks to our success. This position exercises independent discretion with the expectations to prepare, implement and execute strategies for designated territory.

Responsibilities

The Regional Sales Manager shall in general act according to the instruction and authorities given by the Director of Sales, in line with the guidelines below:
Establish relationships with key accounts
Identify, develop and specify products
Openly communicate amongst Sales Team Members, Product Line Management, Manufacturing, Operations as well as Account Managers
Assist in the alignment of products, services and operations to deliver on customer requirements and challenges
Present a high level of technical understanding and aptitude of product lines
Monitor bid and proposal activity to achieve conversion rate KPIs
Complete regular and details sales reports as directed and required
Maintain CRM records and activities
Strategically enhance and support the territory sales representatives and distributors
Coordinate and collaborate with end users, Agents/Representatives, Engineers, Architects and others defined to write or enforce a specification
Represent Ameron in bid clarification meetings
Achieve key financial KPI's in the assigned territory

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ):

All employees shall be familiar with the Management System structure and content, and have specific knowledge regarding requirements, responsibilities, processes (working methods) and other Management System information applicable to the position.

The Management System responsibilities for managers include:
Ensuring that applicable requirements, responsibilities, processes (working methods) and other Management System information is clearly communicated to all team members
measuring the Team's performance
Identifying and handling unacceptable conditions, discrepancies, nonconformities and improvement possibilities

Everyone has an obligation to avoid work that may be considered potentially hazardous. If a hazardous situation occurs, or is considered likely to occur, the work shall be suspended, and the immediate superior shall be contacted without delay.

Skills and Experience Required

Business Acumen
Understands financial calculations (cost, margins, commissions etc)
Aptitude to understand the market drivers
Understands how to develop and implement strategies and tactics that work in the local and national marketplace
Key problem solving and solution-based analyst skills

Dedicated to meeting and exceeding the expectations of customers
Keeping customers and sales channels well trained on products and solutions
Maintains and grows effective relationships with strategic customers and gains their respect
Ability to conduct and close win-win solution-oriented negotiations

Ability to persevere to get things done with minimal supervision internally and externally

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
3-5 years of previous high-level sales experience with proven results
Related industry experience and knowledge a plus
Experienced in selling at all levels

Other Qualifications
Competent at using CRM software or equivalent
Having excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute under minimal supervision
Passionate collaborator who seeks outcome where everybody wins while adhering to core values
You possess the work ethic and drive to strive for new challenges
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
Capable of technically understanding Ameron's portfolio of products and services in order to align them to the sales strategy
Fluent in English (oral and written)

Territory & Travel
Washington, Idaho, Oregon, California & Nevada, candidate must be based in the territory
25-50% travel
