Senior Family Law Solicitor - Remote Communities

Company Overview: NAAFLS is a renowned Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) and independent Family Violence Prevention Legal Service (FVPLS). Our mission is to provide culturally sensitive legal assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote communities of the Northern Territory.

Job Description: As a Senior Family Law Solicitor, you will play a vital role in providing accessible and culturally appropriate legal services to our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Providing legal assistance and advice to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in matters of Family Law, Family Violence, and Child Protection.
Ensuring accurate and timely data entry using our electronic file management system.
Participating in the development and delivery of community legal education programs.
Contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of processes and procedures.
Promoting safe work practices and maintaining confidentiality provisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you must hold a restricted or unrestricted practising certificate in the Northern Territory, with post-admission experience in Family Law. You should also demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Additionally, you must possess a sound understanding of litigation and dispute resolution processes relevant to Family Law and domestic violence orders.
