Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Jira Architect with 8+ years of experience in the design, configuration, and implementation of Jira solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with client teams to stand up a new Jira instance, ensuring it meets their needs, is scalable, and optimizes workflow efficiency. This position requires a deep technical understanding of Jira, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with client stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their business processes.
• Design and implement a scalable, customized Jira solution to fit client needs.
• Configure Jira workflows, schemes, permissions, and custom fields based on client requirements.
• Ensure best practices for Jira instance security, backups, and upgrades are followed.
• Provide technical expertise in integrating Jira with other tools and systems.
• Perform data migration from legacy systems to Jira.
• Provide support and troubleshooting during the implementation phase, and post-deployment.
• Conduct training sessions for client teams on using Jira effectively.
• Work closely with the client's technical team to ensure a smooth handover of the solution.
• Monitor performance and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
Skills And Qualifications
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Jira, with expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Jira Align.
• Strong experience with Jira configuration, workflows, permissions, and administration.
• Experience in designing complex Jira environments for enterprise clients.
• Experience integrating Jira with other Atlassian products (e.g., Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello).
• Knowledge of Atlassian Cloud and Server deployments.
• Expertise in customizing Jira through scripting (Groovy, Jira Automation, etc.).
• Experience in data migration strategies and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to train users and provide documentation.
• Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (preferred).
Desired Skills
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum/Kanban frameworks.
• Experience with Jira plugins/add-ons (e.g., ScriptRunner, Tempo).
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and DevOps tools integration.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms for hosting Jira.
