We are a leading company in the industrial mechanical component optimisation and surface engineering fields. We employ automation and robotics to be recognised for our services and products. We design, manufacture and install robotic automated systems, handling all aspects of the process in-house.


We work with cutting-edge robotics systems and are seeking a highly skilled Junior Controls / Robotics Engineer to join our team in this newly created role.



OBJECTIVE

The Automation / Robotics Engineer will work as an integral part of the systems engineering team and specifically contributes with the design, manufacturing, commissioning and continuous improvement of all robotic automated systems internally and externally.


REPORTING

The position reports directly to both the Technical Manager and General Management as necessary.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, program and implement control systems for industrial automation projects.

Program PLCs with a focus on Siemens systems, with occasional work on other systems.

Develop and integrate robotic systems (ABB preferred) into production environments.

Program and operate ABB robotics, ensuring they are running at peak performance.

Provide on-site technical support to our operations by diagnosing and rectifying faults in automation and robotic systems.

Conduct system testing, troubleshooting and optimisation to ensure reliability and performance.

Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in industrial automation.

Troubleshoot and repair various types of electrical and mechanical systems.

Maintain and repair electrical controls associated with automation equipment.

Offer technical advice and guidance to our team, promoting best practices in automation and robotics management.

Participate in continuous training and development programs to maintain current knowledge of the latest automation and robotics technology.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Experience with ABB (preferred), KUKA, or Fanuc robotics systems.

Strong background in PLC design, installation and programming, with expertise in Siemens or similar industry leading PLC systems. Proven track record in designing and implementing control systems for industrial automation.

Experience and understanding of Australian and International Codes for Electrics and Electronic installations.

Experience in Off-Line Programming and Simulation for Industrial Robot Applications.

Experience in design, drawing and electrical specifications using CAD and engineering software.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronic Controls, Automation or a related field.
