Senior Cloud Network Engineer - 6-month daily rate contract - HybridAbout the roleAs a Cloud Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the cloud networking infrastructure that supports online stores, in-store systems, and the corporate network. You will ensure secure and reliable connectivity between the cloud, data centers, and retail locations while optimising performance and cost efficiency.\Key Responsibilities
Design and deploy Azure-based networking solutions to support e-commerce platforms, point-of-sale systems, and internal applications.
Implement and manage Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, VPNs, NSGs, and Load Balancers.
Ensure high availability and security of cloud networking for retail stores, warehouses, and corporate offices.
Work with cybersecurity teams to implement Zero Trust security and protect customer and transaction data.
Automate network configurations using Terraform, ARM templates, or PowerShell.
Monitor and optimise network performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical retail systems.
Skills
3+ years of experience in cloud networking, preferably in Azure.
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Networks (VNETs), VPNs, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Load Balancers, and DNS.
Knowledge of Azure Networking Services such as Azure Firewall, Azure Front Door, and Traffic Manager.
Experience with network automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, ARM templates).
Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices.
Experience integrating Azure cloud networks with retail IT is a plus. infrastructure, including POS systems, CRM, and ERP platforms.
Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
