Data Quality Engineer

Job description
Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Data Quality Engineer. The successful candidate will work with the data engineering team to ensure that delivered data products are of consistently high quality by automating validation in the data pipelines themselves.

Responsibilities:

• Automate data validation
• Troubleshoot and identify issues in data ingest/build/deliver pipelines
• Surface data quality metrics for dashboards and alerting
• Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes.

Requirement:

• 3-5years of data quality engineering experience
• Experience with data modelling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with data validation and analysis, including a basic understanding of statistics
• Experience with Python programming
• Proficient in SQL (preferably Postgres)
• Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
• 2+years of analysing and interpreting data with Postgres, NoSQL etc. experience
• 2+years of hands-on experience with big data framework and storage mechanisms like Apache Spark, EMR, Glue, Data Lake, and BI tool like Quicksight
• 2+years of experience with data pipeline technologies like Glue ETL, Airflow
• Experience working with high velocity data (many updates per second)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong automation mindset and excellent team player
• Integrating data quality checks in the CI environment.

Desired Skills:

• Geospatial and time series data experience
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists and Business Stakeholders
• Basic understanding of Data Analytics, Exploration and Visualization
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning, AI/GenAI, ML Operations.
• Lookaround corners and be creative- Continuously evaluate and improve our strategy
• Architecture, tooling and codebase to maximize performance, scalability and availability.
