Intern Architect
Gardner Architecture — Edmonton, AB
Introduction
Gardner Architecture is looking for an Intern Architect to join our collaborative and design-focused studio in Edmonton.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate of a Master of Architecture program or an early-career intern architect seeking experience across a broad range of project types and phases. We are looking for someone who is curious, thoughtful, technically minded, and excited to grow within a supportive team environment.
At Gardner Architecture, we believe good design comes from collaboration, strong communication, and a genuine interest in how buildings are experienced by the people who use them. We are a collaborative, design-focused architectural practice with a hands-on studio culture where team members are encouraged to contribute ideas, ask questions, and develop professionally through direct project involvement.
You will work closely with architects, technologists, consultants, and clients on commercial, multifamily, and mixed-use projects throughout Alberta.
What You’ll Do
Assist with architectural design and project development from schematic design through construction documentation
Contribute to design presentations, drawing packages, and visual communication materials
Support the preparation and coordination of Revit models and technical drawings
Participate in consultant coordination and internal project meetings
Research applicable building codes, zoning bylaws, and planning requirements
Assist with project documentation, material research, and detailing
Work collaboratively within project teams while developing increasing responsibility over time
Qualifications
Master of Architecture degree or equivalent professional degree in architecture
Registered or eligible for registration as an Intern Architect in Alberta
Strong design, graphic, and communication skills
Proficiency in Revit required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite and rendering software considered an asset
Interest in both design and technical development
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude and willingness to learn within a collaborative studio setting
