Job Title: Senior HVAC Technician (VRV/VRF Specialist)

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior HVAC Technician with extensive hands-on experience in VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) and VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) systems. The successful candidate will lead the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of advanced HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and residential environments. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who can manage projects, mentor junior technicians, and ensure efficient operation of HVAC systems, with a focus on VRV/VRF technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and supervise the installation, commissioning, and configuration of VRV/VRF systems, including system layout, refrigerant piping, control wiring, and unit setup.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control issues specific to VRV/VRF systems, ensuring optimal system performance.
• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on VRV/VRF systems to ensure efficient operation and to prevent breakdowns.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to junior technicians and other team members regarding VRV/VRF systems.
• Ensure all work complies with local HVAC codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate system design, installation, and commissioning of VRV/VRF systems.
• Perform system audits and energy optimization on existing VRV/VRF systems to maximize energy efficiency.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding VRV/VRF system concerns, explaining technical aspects in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Keep up to date with the latest VRV/VRF technologies and industry best practices, and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service logs, parts used, and client feedback.
Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience in HVAC systems, with a hands-on experience with VRV/VRF systems.
• Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting VRV/VRF systems from leading manufacturers.
• In-depth knowledge of refrigerant piping, electrical systems, control systems, and their application in VRV/VRF systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
• Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior technicians.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong understanding of HVAC safety standards and local building codes.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills and Certifications:
• Experience with building management systems (BMS) and HVAC system integration.
• Familiarity with energy-efficient HVAC practices and sustainable building solutions.
• Proficiency in HVAC system diagnostic software and tools. (e.g., commissioning tools, system performance monitoring software).
Work Environment:
• Fieldwork in various environments including residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Requires physical work including climbing ladders, lifting heavy equipment, working in confined spaces, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
