Job Description – Finance Head

Position - Finance Head

Responsible to Audit Committee of SKLT for strategic matters

Designated Manager/Director for day to day running of schools

Role

Under the general supervision of the Finance Committee of the Shri Kundan Lal Trust, the Head of Finance has the responsibility to provide sound fiscal management in the operation of all financial matters of SKLT, KVM and KIS, including the development and management of the school budget, the investing of money, and the management of audits.

Good degree of supervision with communication skills
Sound knowledge of accountancy and computer savvy
High integrity and systematic organization skills
Confidentiality
Experience in school finances and/or audit is preferred.
Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and various accounting software programs.
Knowledge of tax rules and regulations.
Must have broad experience with ERP software
Good written and oral communication skills
Good negotiation skills
General Duties

To lead and advise the Leadership Group on matters relating to finance.
To attend appropriate Governing Body meetings and assist the Chair of Finance Committee.
To take delegated responsibility for financial decisions.
To give strategic vision and leadership to all aspects of budget and finance.
To lead, operate, maintain and develop the financial procedures and systems of the school, in co-operation with the Leadership Group, ensuring that legal and safety requirements with regard to people and property and function of the school are maintained.
To ensure that the payroll is administered in accordance with the regulations, and required returns submitted.
Specific Responsibilities

Ensuring the school has appropriate financial systems in place and manage all aspects of the school’s financial systems in accordance with the agreed policies; ensuring accurate financial records are maintained, and reporting on a regular basis to the reporting head.
To ensure that the financial transactions in the school are carried out in an appropriate manner and that the financial regulations of both the schools KVM / KIS and the SKLT are observed.
Direct the budget process. Prepare the annual budget and present it to the Trust.
Prepare and present quarterly financial reports
Project sound financial planning for future years.
Monitor all purchasing/spending and ensure sound audit procedures.
Complete and file all required financial reports and taxes.
Coach the finance staff of both schools.
Oversee the payroll process and benefits administration.
Develop financial models for capital campaigns and construction projects.
Manage banking relationships, including fixed deposits, to maximize goals as defined by the Trust.
Oversee cash management with sound audit procedures.
Monitor the financial aid programs as launched periodically
Report on balance of fees collectible
Perform internal audit reviews and identify weaknesses in operations
Answer queries raised by statutory auditors
File the periodic returns stipulated under various statutes applicable
Be member of SKLT Finance Committee
Manage the tendering for all service contracts; monitoring all insurance policies (if any), with a view to cost effectiveness; and ensuring that the school maximises its potential.
Prepare documentation and deal with relevant correspondence relating to school fees, bursaries, orders, invoices, etc.
Qualification

Certified Chartered Accountant, with 3-5 years of experience in handling finance of educational Institutions or ventures.
ICWA or equivalent, with 8-10 years of experience in handling finance of educational Institutions or ventures.
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
