Position Summary
We are currently seeking both Journeyman and Apprentice Compression Technicians to join our growing team. This position supports both shop-based repairs, overhauls, and package builds as well as field service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support on natural gas compression equipment.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, oil and gas experience, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
ResponsibilitiesShop Duties
Perform equipment inspections, tear-downs, repairs, and rebuilds on compression equipment
Assist with engine and compressor overhauls
Support compressor package assembly, modifications, and repairs
Install and repair:
Engines
Compressors
Coolers
Separators
Pumps
Valves and related package components
Maintain accurate service records and inspection documentation
Keep shop work areas clean, organized, and safe
Field Duties
Perform planned maintenance and repairs on customer compression equipment
Troubleshoot engine, compressor, and package-related issues
Respond to breakdowns, shutdowns, and emergency service calls as required
Complete field inspections, diagnostics, and repairs
Commission and start up compression equipment
Complete FLHAs, hazard assessments, and field paperwork
Build and maintain strong customer relationships onsite
Travel to customer locations as required
QualificationsJourneyman Candidates
Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician, Millwright, or equivalent mechanical trade preferred
Strong natural gas compression experience required
Apprentice Candidates
Registered apprentice in Heavy Equipment Technician, Millwright, or related mechanical trade preferred
Oil & gas or mechanical experience considered an asset
All Candidates
Experience working with natural gas compression equipment preferred
Familiarity with:
CAT engines
Waukesha engines
Ariel compressors
Gemini, Ajax, or similar equipment considered an asset
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract
