Job Description
Core Media Solutions is looking for experienced candidates that are interesting in building the infrastructure that delivers everyday modern communication and access to the digital world around us. By working on a Horizontal Directional Drill Crew you will help complete the fiber expansion for our customers around the Greater Phoenix area.
Previous history running machinery and equipment such as mini excavators, hydro excavators, trenchers, portable air compressors, pneumatic missiles is highly recommended. Candidates with a deeper background in the HDD industry can qualify for a higher starting rate of pay. Depends on experience and verifiable credentials.
Only candidates with a Class A CDL will be considered unless you have a extensive background in the HDD industry.
Responsibilities
Follow safety rules and regulations per OSHA safe practices
Adhere to all Core Media Solutions standards, processes, and procedures
Prepare and maintain equipment for safe daily operations
Operate various hand tools, power tools, and equipment for general site preparation, excavation, backfill, site restoration, and any related assignments.
Performs routine inspection on equipment and vehicles
Drive company vehicles safely, courteously, and defensively
Ensure equipment is in proper working order and that all systems are working correctly
Perform basic upkeep and repairs and communicating any equipment malfunctions with their supervisor
Able to perform safe and clean trench excavation and backfill
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills
Possesses strong problem solving and decision-making skills while using good judgment
Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management
Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and on time
Ability to operate all hand tools, power tools, and equipment applicable to job-related duties in a safe and responsible manner
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hat, eye protection, reflective vest, gloves, and composite-toed boots
Requirements
Pass a 9 panel drug screen
Pass an extensive background check
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
The ability to lift, carry, and place objects up to 70 pounds regularly
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, dig, reach, push, pull, and perform other physical work as necessary
The ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Comfortable working outdoors and in extreme weather conditions

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
