Talent Source is seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Mechanic to join our team and work in the shipyards of San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines on marine vessels. Key Responsibilities:

· Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines and related mechanical systems aboard ships and vessels.

· Diagnose engine malfunctions and determine necessary repairs using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.

· Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components.

· Conduct routine servicing of fuel injection systems, cooling systems, and lubrication systems.

· Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure proper repair procedures.

· Utilize precision measuring tools to ensure components meet required specifications.

· Collaborate with other mechanics, engineers, and shipyard personnel to ensure efficient operations.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.

· Adhere to all safety regulations and environmental guidelines in the shipyard.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience working with diesel engines.

· Strong knowledge of diesel engine operation, troubleshooting, and repair.

· Experience with marine propulsion systems, generators, and auxiliary machinery is a plus.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.

· Proficiency with hand and power tools used in engine repair and maintenance.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.

· Willingness to work in a shipyard environment, including exposure to outdoor conditions.

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
