Primary objective

As a statutory appointed Inspector, the Data Analysis Officer will be part of an efficient, flexible, and responsive team who

perform research and preparation of evidence-based advice to the NT Government on the development, monitoring, and

evaluation of alcohol reform initiatives.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide timely, accurate and reliable analytical advice to support the monitoring and evaluation of alcohol reform

initiatives.

2. Respond to stakeholder requests, collate, and disseminate relevant information, resolving problems and escalating issues

when required.

3. Utilise liquor data to respond to internal reporting obligations and information requests.

4. Identify opportunities, make recommendations, and implement improvements to processes, systems, and work

practices.

5. Maintain sound corporate governance of public record by ensuring accurate collection and recording of documentation.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience in the development, maintenance and operation of data collections and reporting systems.

2. Demonstrated ability in technologies used to collect, transform, analyse, and present data (e.g.: Microsoft Excel,

Microsoft Access, SQL, business intelligence tools).

3. Demonstrated ability to communicate and engage effectively with all stakeholders and develop strong working

relationships.

4. Proven ability to pay attention to detail, including reviewing data, reports, and documentation for accuracy and

relevance.

5. Ability to work effectively in a team, to attain and share new skills and to contribute to the achievement of common

goals.

Desirable

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications, or training and experience in statistical analysis methods.

2. Demonstrated understanding of relevant national and local industry issues and regulatory initiatives.
