Full job description
International Revenue Strategy (IRS) plays a critical role in maintaining IR’s great international reputation and delivering future-focused services to IRS customers. These customers include other international tax authorities and organisations, and individuals with offshore interests. The team continues to address the big international tax issues through smart strategies and effective exchange of international intelligence.

IRS has recently refreshed its focus and team structure to enable further improvements to customer experience by focusing all roles on delivering the right outcomes for IR, government, and ultimately, for customers.

About the role | Mō te tūnga

Customer Compliance Specialists within IRS have a unique opportunity to contribute to New Zealand’s international tax programme, focusing on working with customers and their representatives to facilitate international tax compliance domestically and globally. New Customer Compliance Specialists will come with strong analytical, communication and relationship management skills willing to work with taxpayers and their representatives to facilitate international tax compliance.

A curious mindset focused on understanding our customers through highly evolved investigative skills and critical thinking
Proven ability in reading and analysing financial information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
Strong relationship management skills
Keen analytical and critical thinking skills
General knowledge of tax legislation, especially international tax (or a passion and commitment to learn!)
A strong work ethic with a can-do attitude, an appreciation for a fast-paced environment and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
