Credit Analyst

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and be responsible for evaluating credit data and financial statements of individuals or businesses to determine the risk involved in lending money or extending credit. This role requires a solid understanding of risk analysis, credit analysis, and the ability to use an enterprise lending technology solution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform in depth financial analysis of businesses and individuals involved in a multitude of industries for use in the loan underwriting process.
• Utilize financial software to spread and evaluate historical financial statements through the use of common sizing, cash flow/profitability analysis, ratio analysis and trend line analysis.
• Perform detailed analysis of income tax returns for various business entities and individuals.
• Create pro forma financial statements from realistic economic assumptions unique to specific industries and emphasizing their impact on future profitability.
• Determine applicant’s individual financial capacity and character to mitigate credit risk.
• Collaborate with lender to determine credit structures and assist in the development of pricing recommendations on credits.
• Prepare and provide the lender and credit approval committee with results of the financial analysis in the form of formal written reports for use in loan decisions as well as periodic loan reviews.
• Provide support to the Lender, Loan Administrator, or other members of Senior Management for additional projects, reporting, analysis, etc. which may be required as needed or later assigned.
• Assist and support Lender in following up on requests for updated /current financial information from borrowers and guarantors in conjunction with the Loan Administration and financial analysis software tickler system for existing loans.
• Manage the information gathering, compilation and preparation of the Bank’s ALLL model in collaboration with management.
• Other duties as may be required, necessary, or later assigned for fulfillment of the Bank’s strategic plan, action plan and goals within respective deadlines.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in credit analysis or a similar role is preferred.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and report writing skills.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
