Cost Accountant

Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting processes, and assisting in cost analysis to enhance overall business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Cost Analysis and Reporting:

- Assist in the collection and analysis of financial data related to company costs.

- Prepare detailed reports on cost information for management review.

- Monitor and analyze manufacturing overhead, labor, and material costs.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Support the annual budgeting process by gathering and organizing financial data.

- Contribute to periodic financial forecasts and variance analysis.

Inventory Management:

- Assist in maintaining accurate records of inventory, including costs related to raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.

- Participate in regular inventory counts and reconciliations.

Cost Accounting Systems:

- Help maintain and improve cost accounting systems and processes.

- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data in ERP systems.

Financial Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures related to cost accounting.

- Support internal and external audits related to cost accounting and inventory.

Collaboration and Support:

- Collaborate with various departments, including manufacturing, procurement, and sales, to gather pertinent data and support financial decision-making.

- Provide support in various accounting and finance projects as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 2+ years of Cost Accounting experience within a large manufacturing environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
