WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
Coordinator, Tennis Development Programs & Events
The Coordinator, Tennis Development Programs and Events will assist the day-to-day activities of the Tennis Development department across key portfolios and relationships to assist the Tennis Development Department in the effective delivery of competition-related services, data management, research and technology support. This role will provide operational, administrative, and technical support across competitions, rankings, and Tennis Canada’s development initiatives.
Competitive Structure Support
Process weekly provincial tournament results to update national rankings, report, support wheelchair and senior rankings.
Support competitor and provincial association inquiries, reporting and analysis of tournaments, WTN matches, CTL programs and Leagues email support.
Assist with Junior Nationals, including:
Collecting provincial entries.
Verifying player eligibility.
Supporting post-event reporting.
Gather and analyze information on sanctioned and recreational competition across Canada.
Submit quarterly ITF lists.
Data, & Research Technology
Assist in the development of a knowledge base to improve PTTA program delivery using Tennis Canada’s supported software and survey development.
Troubleshoot and escalate bugs/issues with platforms used for PTTA programs.
Research and evaluate new data and technology opportunities.
Collect data for the Tennis Canada Health Index and other departmental reports.
Coordinate Research and Data Analytics across the department
Tennis Development Programs
Support the coordination of PTTA Growth Strategy annual priorities and quarterly reporting
Support the Facilities Development team in coordinating projects that help accelerate outreach, data gathering, reporting, and project delivery.
Support TCs gender equity initiatives, data gathering and reporting as requested by the Director, Women and Girls Advancement.
Support the administration and execution of the UNMATCHED: Gender Equity in Sports Conference.
General Administrative Support
Provide assistance to the Tennis Development and Partnerships team with the preparation of grant funding submissions and reporting as well as the administration of the PTTA meetings and relationship throughout the year.
Support department events and activations as requested throughout the year.
Conduct national, regional and provincial/territorial environmental scans and/or research pertinent to future-focused tennis development initiatives as requested.
WHO YOU ARE?
Post-secondary education in sport management, business, data/technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1-3 years’ experience in sport Organizations
Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated experience in customer service and stakeholder support.
Comfortable working with data, writing grants, and producing engaging and factual reports to inform decision-making across the department.
Knowledge of tennis competitions, rules, and structures is considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
Full time 12-month contract
Work hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Some evenings & weekends required leading up to and around the National Bank Open
Reporting Location is Toronto
Hybrid remote office schedule with 2/days per week onsite
