On behalf of our clients, GroupSupport Pty Ltd, we are a well‑established and General IT and Managed Services Provider delivering enterprise‑grade IT infrastructure, advanced network engineering, and cybersecurity solutions to a diverse portfolio of clients across Western Australia.
Due to sustained business growth and increased client demand for complex infrastructure solutions, the company is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Computer Network and Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing optimisation of client network and systems environments.
Position Overview
This is primarily an engineering role involving the design, deployment, optimisation, and maintenance of complex network and systems infrastructure across multiple client environments within a close-knit highly functional team environment.
The position requires advanced technical expertise, professional judgment, experience and responsibility for end‑to‑end infrastructure solutions, including troubleshooting of complex and non‑routine issues.
This role also involves supporting and mentoring support and helpdesk technicians, assisting with project management, documentation and communication and working with the sales team to cost solutions.
This role requires a minor involvement in routine end‑user support, helpdesk services and administrative IT functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:
· Designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise‑level network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, SDWAN and secure remote access solutions
· Collaborating, communicating and assisting with internal team members and external parties as required.
· Configuring, managing, and optimising network and security devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems (both software and hardware)
· Analysing network and systems performance, implementing improvements to ensure availability, scalability, and security while maintaining uptime for client systems.
· Diagnosing and resolving complex network and systems faults across complex, multi‑site, hybrid, and cloud‑based environments as needed
· Designing, deploying, and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure
· Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity controls in accordance with recognised industry frameworks and best practices
· Producing and maintaining detailed technical documentation, system architecture designs, and network diagrams
· Liaising with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding infrastructure projects, upgrades, and technical solutions
· Contributing to infrastructure standards, technical processes, mentoring of peers and continuous improvement initiatives
Selection Criteria – Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
· A Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or overseas’ equivalent.
· A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant post‑qualification experience performing network and systems engineering duties at a professional level
· Competent English (IELTS 6.0 and above, or equivalent)
· Demonstrated professional experience in:
o Enterprise networking, including routing, switching, and firewall technologies
o Multi‑site and/or client‑facing infrastructure environments
o Cloud platforms, specifically AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
o Virtualisation technologies, such as VMware, Hyper‑V, or equivalent
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills applied to complex, non‑routine technical issues
· Proven ability to work independently and exercise technical judgment with minimal supervision
· Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce technical documentation
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
· Industry‑recognised certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, AWS, Microsoft Azure)
· Prior experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
Employment Conditions
· Permanent, full‑time position based in Perth, Western Australia
· Salary range reflects current market rates commensurate with skills and experience
· Standard business hours, with reasonable additional hours as required to meet project and operational needs
