Job Description

McNeill Distribution, part of the K G Richardson Group, is a proudly Southland‑owned transport business that plays a critical role in supporting the operations of Niagara Sawmilling Company.

Through recent years, we have streamlined our business model, strengthening efficiency, reliability, and long‑term sustainability. This has created strong job security for our people while positioning the business to continue supporting Niagara’s ongoing growth and operational expansion.

We are now seeking experienced and motivated Class 5 Logging and HPMV Bulk Tipper (full height, large volume) Drivers to join our professional transport team, servicing logging and processing operations across the Southland and Otago regions.

What We Are Looking For

Class 5 driver licence
Minimum 3 years’ experience driving Class 5 vehicles (logging experience preferred) or 2 years experience tipping experience.
A clean driving record and demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices
Strong reliability, punctuality, and work ethic
Ability to work effectively as part of a wider operational team
Two recent references from direct managers or supervisors
Experience mentoring others, or willingness to support less experienced drivers, is an advantage
Key Responsibilities

Safe and efficient operation of logging transport units
Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining safety standards
Ensuring loads are secure and documentation is completed accurately
Compliance with all health and safety, transport, and legislative requirements
Representing the business professionally at all sites and interactions
