Accountant

Job description
Exciting biotech company seeks an Accountant to join the Finance Department. This person will be responsible for managing accounting needs, Accounts Payable and Receivable and corresponding documentation. This is a rapidly growing medical device company with plans to go public within the year, so it is an exciting time to join!

Requirements of the Accountant:
• Bachelor's Degree or applicable work experience.
• 2+ years experience in accounting preferably in medical device or healthcare.
• Proficient knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end and month-end closing process.
• Strong knowledge with accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Accounting experience at a manufacturing company and start up preferred.
• CPA or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities of the Accountant:
• AP, AR and Expense management, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, etc.
• Prepare month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support inventory count, reconciliation process and other departments in the company's ERP.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant deviations.
• Budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Maintain filing system for financial records, information and documents.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
